I get upset,
When I forget
A tune, a word, a phrase.
I live in fear,
They'll disappear
In an indistinct haze.
So far, my brain
Seems to retain
The memories of yore,
But will it last,
Or will the past
Dissolve, like things before?
I wish some gent
would soon invent
A pill, a drug, a cure
That will assuage
The race of age,
The anguish we endure.
So far, to cope,
There's little hope
Such thing will come along,
So I'm upset,
When I forget
A phrase, a word, a song...
