With Facebook and Twitter
And Google and e-mail and blogs,
I boot up my computer
Push buttons, and put her
To learn what is lately in vogue.
I'm offered great cruises,
Adds that abuse us,
And journals, and trinkets, and tools,
And tickets to shows
That nobody knows,
And objects for wizards and fools.
I'm asked to go dance
With a cyber-romance,
And to purchase a ticket to sail
To the East or the West
For a well-deserved rest,
And to book it today, without fail.
And political causes
Are there to propose
That I donate some dough to support,
They're sure I understand,
Their political ends,
And for a donation exhort.
So, with all the utter
Confusion and clutter,
It's probably all for the best
To forget all the ringing,
The chirping, the dinging,
And give my computer a rest.
