Its own Martian Rover
That was looking to find what was on it,
After all its gymnastics,
Sent news quite fantastic:
There may be life on the Red Planet!
Well, it's much more mundane:
It detected methane
That could not have been very old,
So, whatever its cause,
A cheer soon arose
For the find, and achievement so bold!
Whether it's microbes' refuse,
The people enthuse,
Or geology's force, they insist.
The methane is the sign
That on Mars one can find
The conditions for life to exist!
So, it's easy to tell,
The folks at JPL,
Can hardly the good news absorb:
After years of suspense,
After effort immense
There is life somewhere outside our orb!...
