Of a creature far from docile,
That has people, truth be sad,
Scratching their scientific heads...
It used to be a simple story:
Everything was honkydory.
Birds from dinosaurs derived:
Feathers proved that this was right.
Now this dinosaurlike creature
Had a most amazing feature:
A most unusual, odd thing:
It had membranes for its wings!
Nobody has yet decided,
If it flapped its wings, or glided,
So it's easy to confuse
This strange membrane's real use.
One can praise her, or resent her,
But Nature is an experimenter:
It tries this, and it tries that,
Makes a bird, creates a bat...
So we'll simply have to wait,
This small dinosaur contemplate,
Until we find some other bones
Of prehistoric skeletons...
