Each has its dish, and each knows its name.
They have different manners and different habits.
Four cats in the household- and not two the same.
One is a hunter, spends time in the garden,
On lawns, or in fields that are outside the house.
(Except when it snows, when he comes from the yard in).
And he brings you presents: a bird or a mouse.
The second is inside, on couch by the telly,
He likes what goes on in the household to watch.
He likes to be tickled on his white, soft belly,
And behind his ears he loves to be scratched.
The third is an acrobat – jumper and leaper
Who likes to climb trees and perch in high place.
She's always in motion, and it's hard to keep her
From jumping and running and leaping and race.
The fourth spends long hours in grooming and washing,
And she befriended a neighborhood dog.
Not for her jumping and racing and thrashing -
She sleeps in the sun on a rock or a log.
Four cats a particular household inhabit,
Each has its own dish and each knows its name.
They have different manners and different habits-
Four cats in a household, and not two the same.
