And complain, though they thought me an old fool.
That the bulky textbooks in their packs
Were too heavy for their fragile backs...
Now they just announced a brand-new rule:
Not a single textbook will be used in school.
All books will be digitally had,
And available on tablet or on pad.
Thus the pedagogic evolution has progressed,
From a slate that uses chalk for learning text,
From a notebook that with quill and ink is writ,
To the textbook made of digits, bit by bit...
Yet the question keeps recurring in my mind:
If the children lasting benefits will find?
'Til the bad, uncaring teachers are replaced,
And those more dedicated take their place?...
