He shields females from every disaster,
As against foe he swings,
And attempts to right things,
He thinks he's the world's greatest king!
With mosquitoes, it's a different deal:
The female needs blood for her meal,
To pass on all her genes
And to stay all serene,
She pain and discomfort must bring-
It's only the female that stings!
A female mosquitoe's a witch,
She'll cause you to scratch and to itch,
And though both genders take wing,
It is a well-known thing
That only the female will sting.
And just to complete the scenario,
She may even give you malaria.
Your blood she will drink,
And whatever you think-
It's only the female that stings!
So stay clear of females, my chum,
Females that buzz and that hum,
For they may appear
To be harmless and dear,
And even a melody sing,
But they sting!
