He spent his days in search of food,
Then he learned to plant his crops -
His wanderings came to a stop.
Suddenly, he could leisure find
To turn to matters of the mind.
Early science, early art,
Soon set him easily apart,
From the other living creatures,
By his mind's astounding features.
Next, the industrial revolution
Found a new for life, solution,
And sent mankind on its course
For a machine to replace the horse.
Various gadgets for home living
Made his labors more forgiving,
And modern science soon unravelled
How we lived, and how we travelled.
Now, with computers and robotics,
We may mend our ways idiotic:
Robots may now fight our wars,
Give us time to learn more.
What will now be Man's new chance
His well-being to advance?
Can it be, the time is rife
To do away with social strife?
Will new scientific skills
Do away our social ills?
Those are challenges that may
Rule in the computers' day...
