They are more jelly than they're fish,
They seem to have quite curious features,
Some think they are a tasty dish...
They hardly look like living matter,
Usually, they're harmless things,
But as they drift in salty water
They can give one a nasty sting.
Their eggs they always keep inside them,
So, hard to eradicate:
If one cuts them up, to fight them,
More of them one will create...
When they suddenly form swarms -
No one knows the wheres and whys-
They can do extensive harm
To major human enterprise.
Some scientists find their motions
Worthy subjects of their tests,
But as one swims in the ocean,
One cannot help to think, they're pests...
