On the ice, the parents can tell their chicks hungry peep;
There are even fish, whose fathers work hard
Their newly-hatched fishlings from danger to guard.
How does a raptor, way up in the sky,
Know how his children to teach how to fly?
How does a bird, a fox to deceive,
Pretends to be wounded, so her kids may live?
Are the young ever grateful? And are they aware
That they are alive owing to this loving care?
