With his rating appalling,
As his numbers keep falling,
Trump, to improve his foul mood,
Gathers a crowd
That can holler and shout,
And this seems to make him feel good.
He loudly insists
That Bob Mueller desist,
And that he quite simply prevail,
Instead of collusion
With Russia’s intrusion,
He find Hillary’s missing mail...
And while Trump is complaining
That Mueller’s maintaining
His queries of Trump’s dealings of yore,
Mueller’s changing the scene, as
He issues subpoenas
And Trump’s old finances explores.
Trump draws a red line,
And increasingly whines
That Mueller accept his behest,
But, though Trump abhors it,
Bob Mueller ignores it,
And just goes ahead with his quest.
No one comprehends
How it will all end,
But it looks like Trump’s secrets will out,
For, when all’s well and done,
And the shouting ‘s all gone,
The truth is what’s all about...
Back to Normal?
Trump has found a brand-new path:
Include Republicans in his wrath.
And the Republicans have discovered,
From fear of Trump they have recovered...
Most recently the Congress signed
Legislation Trump opposed,
Such an event boggles the mind,
And clearly serious rifts exposed.
Perhaps Trump’s penchant to complain,
And rallies call , to small effect,
Serve his confidence to sustain
That his presidency he can protect.
For voices are starting to sound
In Congress and the dales and hills
That compromises must be found
With Democrats, to pass some bills,
And marginalize Trump’s disgrace
His oratory and abuse,
To normal politics embrace,
Bipartisan, and not obtuse...
Accomplishments?
Trump employs so many ways
His friends to lead from truth astray:
Denials, dissembling , and distractions
Provide him with some satisfaction.
But one conclusion seems secure:
The smallest slight he can’t endure,
And seems compelled to intervene,
No matter what it might have been.
He denies Hillary got more votes,
And voter fraud theories promotes,
He still maintains his proclamations
Fulfilled his promise to the nation.
But it is obvious and transparent,
And ever more and more apparent,
That what he promised, he ignored
And the opposite kept arranging for.
Yet, though he brags and still insists
On great accomplishments a list,
It’s clear that his successes great
Have not materialized, to date.
And thus his “base” begins to crack
For fulfilled promises a lack.
How long will he succeed to hold
His supporters, with lies bold?
Trump’s Wisdom
In his wisdom and insight,
Trump appears to show delight:
Of his health plan the poor show,
He persists, “I told you so,”
And his plan for immigration
In the courts in litigation,
Has yet to see the light of day
To his chagrin and dismay.
Politics is not his game,
But he twitters, just the same,
With pronouncements and predictions
Reflecting his odd convictions,
Like his statements, quite contrary,
He knows better than the military
How to solve a current mess,
If only Congress he’d impress...
No wonder, thinking of this fact array
Cause his Party some dismay,
And with apprehension plenty,
They start eying 2020...
War of Words
The King Jong-Nu and Trump exchange
Shows that both seem to be deranged:
North Korea war of words
Lately turned into the absurd.
“Fire and Fury” exclamation,
“Revenge” angry declaration,
Are not rational debates
To which both nations need relate.
Both King and Trump appear the same
As they engage in their game.-
When human suffering’s at stake,
We can’t afford a bad mistake...
Who’s a “Loser”?
Trump continues to amaze
When for his foe he coins a phrase:
Lately he has been wont to lose,or
Repeat his foe’s a “loser.”
But if he does not watch his tongue,
And improvises all along,
He will soon become well known
As a “loser” all his own...
Distraction
The late raid on Manefort’s place
Shows the serious turn
That Mueller’s quest took, apace,
And may results soon earn.
He had to prove there’s proof of crime
And urgent need of speed,
And no waiting, and no time
For delays, indeed.
Trump seemed to take note of this state
And in his distracting way,
He fired off a tweet of late,
To the Pentagon’s dismay,
His surprise transgender ban
That makes no obvious sense,
Except to show all he can
Soften Manefort’s offense.
And so Manefort he starts to blame
His credibility to blunt,
And hopes upset Bob Mueller’s game,
And his relentless hunt...
Improvisation
Statesmen weigh their words with caution
To convey just what they meant,
But Trump succumbs to emotion
And is on improvisation bent.
It’s important, between foes to
Be precisely understood,
And identify what goes to
Phrases that may bear no good.
And, while honesty is dandy,
Used in flowery metaphor,
Plain words sometimes may prove handy,
Provided they don’t lead to war...
Trump and McCullum
The G.O.P.’s split,
Trump’s in a snit,
And his agenda is stalled.
He is blaming Mitch
Increases his pitch,
And indicates he is appalled.
McCullum is cross:
Trump’s not his boss!
He sees no good reason to grieve,
Trump may threaten, complain
And be angry – in vain!
Mitch is not about to leave.
To his friends he confessed,
With Trump he’s not impressed,
And in the Senate he feels he’s secure.
For every time it’s the same:
Trump finds someone to blame,
So Trump’s threats he’s prepared to endure.
Trump’s penchant to rage
And a crisis to stage
To intimidate and to confuse,
And his angry invective
Prove much less effective,
With frequent and purposeless use.
Hope
Worries dump
About Trump,
There is hope
We can cope
For a year
‘Til it’s clear
To forecast
That the mess
And distress
Will be past.
So rejoice,
Raise your voice!
Worries dump
About Trump!
